Thomas Clark is an advocate for innovative safety practices and is known for challenging traditional safety norms. Currently, he works as the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Diamond Pet Foods in Columbia, South Carolina, where he applies new approaches to occupational safety. Previously, he served as the Agency Safety Director at the South Carolina regulatory agency, SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC), overseeing safety across various areas, including environmental enforcement, public health programs, healthcare, and statewide emergency response.

In addition to his current role, Thomas also serves as an Instructor for the Columbia-Richland Fire Department Training Division & South Carolina State Fire Academy, teaching courses on hazardous materials emergency response, medical services, and firefighting. His certifications include EMT, Fire Officer, Fire Instructor, Confined Space Rescue, and Hazardous Materials Technician. He has also completed specialty hazardous materials training at SERTC and CDP and is certified as an NFPA 1403 Live Fire Instructor to conduct fixed facilities live burns.

Thomas holds a Master's degree in Occupational Safety, a Master's in Management and Leadership, and several certifications, including National Register Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, and Certified Safety Professional.
